Cry Baby® Juice Grape Label Turns 60

crybaby

(Fresno, CA.) One of the most prominent brands in the US and Canada for premium wine juice grapes, Cry Baby, is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The popular label features a male infant crying. That infant now sixty-one years later is Joe Guerriero, President of Guerriero Packing in Fresno, CA. His firm was started by his father, Tony, the original packer to ship Thompson Seedless juice grapes from the San Joaquin Valley to east coast distributors for their home wine maker customers.

According to Guerriero, “People love the label almost as much as they do our juice grapes! It’s become a collectors’ item. I’ve had requests to put that crying baby image on everything from hats and shirts to coffee mugs and wine glasses. The Cry Baby label has been framed and hung on walls in offices, kitchens, warehouses, barns and even in home bars. Markets want it enlarged for their produce sections.”

Guerriero’s son, Tony, is in the business with his father, and plans for his son, Dominic, to become the 5th generation in the grape business. “I think my grandfather would get a kick out of how we have continued his legacy of providing premium juice grapes at competitive prices for the old country tradition of home wine making with which my great grandfather was very familiar, too!”
